Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned practices and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden cult.
The mission centers on "strange tests and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who accomplish the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime series. The series previously included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
